Red Velvet Leaf Lettuce

150 Seeds

$ 2.79

(Lactuca sativa) Vibrant red leaves with velvety texture, this variety holds true to its name. Plants produce crimson red, slightly wrinkled leaves. This lettuce is velvety soft, but not thin or flimsy. We eat it at all stages and like to mix it in with other fancy lettuces. Because the leaves are not flat, they do a great job of carrying the dressing while staying light and fluffy, as opposed to some other lettuces which seem to collapse once you add dressing. Fun to grow and a delight to eat. Excellent lettuce all around. 55 days to harvest. 150 seeds/pkt.

CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds 4-6" apart, 1/8" deep in rows 18-24" apart. Under ideal conditions, germination will occur in 2-14 days.  For best yield, harvest by cutting individual leaves from the plant, leaving the growing tip intact.
