The Scarlet Flame is the only Zinnia I plant each year because the color just makes my day! It's real red, not orange-red or pink-red. It looks like dark red velvet. I grow all my plants indoors and when the zinnia and tomato seeds didn't germinate properly, I went looking for another vendor and found Thresh Seed Co. I planted seeds on 2/21 and they all germinated by 2/25 (ditto for the Thessoloniki tomato seeds I purchased). Not only that, but the 3 surviving zinnia sprouts, from seed started on 2/1 using the other seed, are pitiful. The Thresh seeds were an inch tall by 3/1. I transplanted them into deep cells by 3/10. I'll have to judge the flower and color once they bloom but I have high hopes.
Thresh is an amazing seed supplier. I was able to fine a lot of the unique seeds I was looking for and their packaging is also quite attractive and practical.
Dolma is a dish made with stuffed peppers. Bell peppers sold at stores are very meaty not suitable for dolma shell. Pepper should have thin meat so that stuffing can cook evenly. Here is the picture of the dish. I will order these seeds and give it a try. Excited.
Great germination in only a couple days!
I’ve gardened here for 5 years, it was all forest to the road, a lot of work clearing and cleaning land. It has consistently been a struggle with poor soil. But now showing rich black dirt. Hauled about 60 or more Tons of manure fall 2023 to spring 2024 and compost faithfully. The drought summer to fall of 2023 made fall greens not perform well. Our tomatoes were fantastic bearing righ to fall. This years garden will be the best yet! Plants started indoors, potatoes and onions in ground already. I have expanded into medicinal plants heavily. Both forest and in garden. I’m adding solar power pump system to a well drilled in fall 2023. So drought will never stop me again. I grow some excellent broccoli normally spring and fall crop. I do not use chemical fertilizer except a little miracle grow for the boron, and transplant.
Easy to open & store seeds.
Great tasting lettuce.
Grew very well in a dirt-free garden.
I'm excited to try these seeds.
I received the pepper seeds quickly; I will be planting them soon.
I love these tomatoes. The first year I planted them, I noticed the taste difference from other tomatoes. They're sweet, good producers and great for slicing or canning. I've grown these for several years and, although I save my seeds, they didn't germinate well this year. I found Thresh Seed while searching and was delighted to see they sold the Thessoloniki. I started 8 seeds on 2/21 and all eight germinated by 2/25! Two days later and they're all an inch tall. Ditto for the zinnia seeds I purchased. I'm sold on the quality of Thresh seeds.
I plant greens early inside. If they are done before transplant time, we just eat them and start over outside. We'll be eating this spinach soon! ...and maybe a whole new batch before we can plant outside. The seeds germinated in about 3-4 days, grew like "bean stalks," and were ready for cutting very quickly!
I gave up Sweet 100’s for these as the plants are more manageable (not vining everywhere!) and the tomatoes are sweeter. I grew mine in a5 gallon pots and they produced well .
Shipping was fast and my seeds came packaged nicely. I am looking forward to growing these this year!
Delivered in less than a week, lovely packaging, can't wait to start growing these beauties.
What a beautiful plant, prolific bunches of 4-6 tomatoes! They are beefy and low acid, excellent for fried green tomatoes as well. I will grow these every year!! Humidity of eastern NC didn’t even phase them, kept on producing.
I grew fifty of these Boone county corn plants in Massachusetts in 2023. These plants did fantastically with many of them growing 12 feet tall and producing large ears (1-2 per plant, mostly 1). It probably helped that the plants had access to a three inch thick layer of compost. I also tied them up to reduce the risk of them falling over, The neighbors were impressed by these tall plants! If harvested early the ears were good as sweet corn, but when harvested later this corn produced good flour, grits, and polenta. The polenta was especially good with delicate tones of of sweet corn that I normally do not get with flour corn.
