Red Romaine Lettuce

150 Seeds

$ 3.69

Red Romaine is a beautiful romaine-type lettuce produces lime green leaves that blush to a rich burgundy color where exposed to light.  Leaf midveins retain their bright green color and are a lovely contrast to the red margins.  Even astronauts love red romaine-- it is one of the varieties being tested on board the International Space Station where it has given great results so far.  Approximately 45 days to harvest.  Each packet contains a minimum of 150 seeds.

Did not grow

None of the seeds I planted sprouted

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry you had bad luck with your seeds. This lot is germinating at 91% in our tests but it is always possible that something happened in transit. We will be in touch about a refund or replacement.

Quick Sprouting

I randomly threw the seeds in a raised bed and boy did they sprout quickly. I'm so excited about how fast they are growing.

Slow going

It’s hard to see their little sprouts in the dark soil but they are starting to grow

Red Romaine Review

I started the seeds in a flat. Germinated in just a few days and is growing well under lights. Still waiting to put them outside. It's May 6th and had a frost this morning and just finished getting the deer fence up. Seed order arrived quickly as well. Will order from Thresh Seed again.
