Waltham Butternut Squash
A well-known variety of butternut squash developed by Bob Young of Waltham, Massachusetts. The most popular variety of butternut squash around, prized for its excellent vigor, yield and eating quality. Three to six-pound squash have vibrant orange flesh with a sweet, nutty flavor. We love to cube and roast them, similar to a sweet potato. Excellent storage variety. 80-100 days to harvest. 25 seeds per packet.
CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds in hills with 4-5 seeds per hill and hills spaced 6ft in all directions. Germination will occur in 7-14 days. Once seeds have germinated thin to 3 seedlings per hill.
