Honeyboat Delicata Winter Squash Seeds

Honeyboat Delicata Winter Squash

25 Seeds

$ 3.59

(Cucurbita pepo) An improved strain of delicata bred by Dr. James Baggett at Oregon State University and introduced to growers in 1990.  Plants produce excellent yields of oblong, striped squash with tender skins and sweet, orange flesh.  We love that they can be prepared without removing the skins.  We just scoop out the seeds, slice into rings, season and roast.  Our children absolutely love them.  In fact, we recently caught our 4-year-old sneaking leftover Honeyboat rings into her bedroom one evening.  We're still not sure who was fooling who, but we're happy just the same.  90-100 days to harvest.  25 seeds per packet.

CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds in hills with 4-5 seeds per hill and hills spaced 6ft in all directions.  Germination will occur in 7-14 days.  Once seeds have germinated thin to 3 seedlings per hill.
