Fife Creek Cowhorn Okra
50 Seeds
(Abelmoschus esculentus) Very old heirloom okra reportedly given to the Fife family by a Creek Indian woman over 100 years ago. Plants produce continuous harvests of long, curved pods reaching 8-12" in length. Pods remain tender longer than most heirloom varieties. We find that the tips can usually still be snapped when the pods reach 6" in length. One of our highest yielding varieties. 55 days to harvest. 50 seeds per packet.
CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed and soil temps have reached approx. 70 degrees, sow seeds ½” deep, 2” apart in rows 3’ apart. Once germination has occurred, thin to one plant every 12-18”. Harvest regularly to promote yield.
