Heshiko (He Shi Ko) Spring Green Bunching Onion
100 Seeds
(Allium fistulosum) Also known as He Shi Ko, this heirloom Japanese bunching onion produces a year-round supply of tender, green onions that are perfect for use in stir-fries, soups and salads. Sturdy plants reach 12-14" tall and will naturally multiply if left in place. Overwinters in most climates. Cold-frames or other frost protection may be used in the harshest winter climates. 90 days to maturity. 100 seeds per packet.
CULTURE: Sow seeds in early spring, as soon as soil can be worked. Can also be fall-sown in mild winter climates. Sprinkle seeds in a narrow, 2" wide band and cover with fine soil. Space rows 12-18" apart. Keep well-watered until germination has occurred (7-10 days). Maintain consistent moisture and keep well weeded until seedlings are established. Plants can be harvested at any time.
