Cucumis melo
Rough, wrinkled, and utterly unforgettable, Prescott Fond Blanc was one of our favorite melons of the year. Its hard, lumpy rinds begin a beautiful blue-green, gradually ripening to a buttery cream color that hints at the sweetness inside. Too fragile to leave outdoors, we learned to pick them early and let them finish on the counter—turning them like a wheel of cheese, watching, waiting, for that perfect ripeness.

This melon belongs to home gardeners, to those who value flavor and texture over uniformity and shelf life.
When sliced—yes, like cheese—the fruit reveals juicy, exceptionally smooth, and fragrant flesh with a sweetness that lingers. Prescott Fond Blanc may not be efficient, but it is indulgent in the best possible way: a reminder of why we grow our own food in the first place. Prescott Fond Blanc matures approximately 80 days after sowing. Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
