Old Joe Clark Semi-Runner Bean
25 Seeds
(Phaseolus vulgaris) Also known as Pink Half-Runner and Red Peanut Bean. Heirloom bean produces early crops of 3-4" pods that mature from green to a unique fuchsia color. Traditionally used as a snap bean with a unique, somewhat nutty flavor as well as a dry bean when left on the vine to mature. Semi-runner plants will grow to 4' if given support. Extra-early variety often used as an early season crop that is pulled when mature and replanted to other vegetables.
CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds 4-6" apart, 1" deep in rows 24-36" apart. Plants perform best when trellised. Under ideal conditions, germination will occur in 7-10 days. For highest yield, harvest regularly. Avoid touching plants while leaves are wet as this can spread disease.
