Rainbow Carrot Mix

150 Seeds

$ 3.69

(Daucus carota) A colorful mixture of heirloom carrots in vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, purple and white.  Great for snacking, cooking, roasting and juicing.  A favorite of our children, who delight in digging up the carrots to reveal their colorful roots.  Warning, they may fight for their favorite colored carrot at the dinner table, but we figure that kids fighting over vegetables is never that big of a deal.  60-75 days to harvest.  150 seeds per packet.

CULTURE: Plant seeds outdoors about 3-5 weeks before the last frost. Prepare bed by tilling and removing any rocks. Sow seeds in furrows 1/8" deep with rows 12-18" apart. Keep soil moist until germination has occurred (10-21 days.) Hint: To keep soil cool and moist during germination, carrot seed can be interplanted with radishes, which are harvested once the carrot seedlings are well established. Thin seedlings to one every 3-4". Successive plantings can be made every 2-3 weeks throughout spring and fall.
