Ogle Family Cut Short Bean
25 Seeds
Our favorite trial bean of 2022, Ogle Family Cut Short is a rare Appalachian variety reportedly brought out of what is now the Great Smoky Mountain National Park sometime in the 1930's by a man named Odie Ogle. Once commonly used for "leather britches." Vigorous, pole-type plants produce large bunches of 4" long pods containing tightly packed brown speckled seed. As seeds fill out the pods, they run out of room and square off, causing them to look "cut short". We were absolutely amazed by the productivity of this bean and even more impressed by the flavor. A real treasure. Approximately 70 days to harvest. Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
