Listada De Gandia Eggplant
(Solanum melongena) An heirloom variety, most likely of Spanish origin, “Listada de Gandia” offers both beauty and exceptional flavor. Gorgeous, purple streaked skins enclose finely textured, creamy white flesh that is never bitter. Egg-shaped fruit reach 5-8” at maturity and should be harvested while skins are still glossy. 90 days to harvest. 50 seeds per packet.
CULTURE: Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Germination will be improved by using a growers heat mat. Transplant outdoors once soil temps have reached 60 degrees. Space transplants 18-24” apart in rows 36” apart. Harvest fruit while skin is still glossy and tender.
