Hidatsa Red Shelling Bean
25 Seeds
Historic Native American variety obtained from the Hidatsa tribe of North Dakota and introduced commercially in 1915 by the Oscar Will Seed Company. Vigorous semi-runner plants produce abundant yields of glossy, red beans. Hidatsa Red is similar in appearance to a red kidney bean, although smaller, and is likewise well-suited for use in chili or baked beans. Vigorous plants climb to 36 inches if given support but may be left to sprawl in dry climates. Matures approximately 80 to 100 days from sowing. Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
