Lina Sisco's Bird Egg Bush Shelling Bean

50 Seeds

$ 3.99

Also called Trout Bean or Dalmatian Bean.  Lina Sisco's Bird Egg is an heirloom bean donated to Seed Savers Exchange by Lina Sisco, one of its six original members.  Lina Sisco's Bird Egg was reportedly brought to Missouri in a covered wagon by Lina's grandmother in the 1880's.  Bush-type plants produce excellent yields of buff-colored beans with fuchsia swirls and speckles.  An occasional solid pink bean adds special interest to the mix.  These beans are traditionally used as a dry bean and tend to hold onto their skins during cooking, making them a great option for recipes that require the bean to hold its shape, such as in soups or chili.  Bush habit.  85 days to harvest.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
