I was gifted a pack of these seeds last year, and they were such a huge success that I ordered more for next year’s garden. The seeds had a high germination rate, the plants were vigorous, but they took their time producing peppers. The delay might have been the result of growing the plants in containers, but I’m limited to gardening on my deck. Once they decided to make peppers, though, there was an explosion of tiny peppers everywhere. They started green and black, and again took their sweet time turning red. The peppers were just slightly sour and spicy when green, but became fiery hot when red. Both were fabulous in salsa and sauces, and they were great additions to quick pickled cucumbers and carrots. Unfortunately, the birds also loved the pequin peppers and would steal them as soon as they turned red, which is why I gave up and picked them while they were still green. These have earned a permanent plant in my garden.
I just have to say that when I talk to this company, they were very, very kind and understanding about me forgetting to put my apartment number and sent me out more seeds and they are absolutely growing beautiful and plentiful dream come true!
I have grown these a few years, and have really come to love this variety. I rate the taste as very good and productivity as excellent. This variety bears early and often, and bears more consistently once summer sets in here in Central AR than most. It also loads up on fruit heading into fall. Fruit keeps very well, and texture remains firm even when fully ripe, unlike some yellows that tend to mush. Flavor is sweet and fruity, and it is very good for sandwiches, salads and cooking.
I’ve never seen this variety elsewhere and have enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. Varieties like this allow me to grow less productive tomatoes, and Carolina Yelllow is much beloved in my household.
I am so excited about this tomato plant. All of the seeds I planted germinated. I haven't tried these yet, but its growing really well and already sprouting so many little tomatoes!
I have been buying from your company for a few years now but this was the first year I tried this variety. The Dester is definitely one I will grow again next year. We have a short growing season here in Montana and they did great with a moderate amount grown on each plant especially for a larger tomato type.
Bought these garlic to increase my harvest for next year. They are very large, clean and seem to be great quality. I'll be planting first week of October and look forward to my harvest next year.
