(Nigella damascena) Age-old English variety dating back to around 1570. Produces white, periwinkle, and electric blue flowers atop wispy stems and a "mist" of airy, feather-like foliage. Flowers mature into beautiful seed pods that dry well for flower arrangements. Self-seeds readily. Not edible. All parts of the plant are toxic to humans. Approx. 250 seeds per packet.
CULTURE: Sow seed outdoors when a chance of frost is still possible. Sow 1/8" deep in average soil with full sun exposure. Germination will occur in 8-15 days. Thin to one plant every 8-12 inches.
