(Agastache foeniculum) Also know as Anise Hyssop.  Native to the Midwest, this lovely perennial makes a perfect addition to pollinator gardens.  Deer resistant plants feature lovely licorice and mint scented leaves and beautiful lavender colored flower spikes attract a wide variety of native bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Mature plants reach 3’ in height and width and are moderately resistant to drought.  Perennial, hardy to zone 4.  Approx. 250 seeds per packet.

CULTURE: Sow seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before average last frost.  Surface sow seeds and cover very lightly with fine potting mix. Once established, transplant outdoors with seedlings spaced 6-12” part.  Prefers full to part sun.

sprouted in 8 days in potting soil, in an unheated basement, with 12 hours of LED grow lights daily.
I am growing this because my bees LOVE it. (I am also a bee keeper)

Nourishing bee food 🐝

I am a beekeeper and I have grown Anise Hyssop before and my honeybees Love it. This year I wanted to add Lavender Hyssop to see if they have a preference. I’m anxiously awaiting planting time!
