(Cucurbita pepo) Heirloom variety dating back to the 1950's. Vigorous plants are excellent producers of classic pumpkins reaching about 10 lbs each. Orange, ribbed pumpkins are healthy and uniform, measuring approximately 8" wide by 10" tall. Excellent for use as a traditional carving pumpkin, but also suitable for baking and as a supplemental feed for chickens and pigs.
CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds in hills with 4-5 seeds per hill and hills spaced 6ft in all directions. Germination will occur in 7-14 days. Once seeds have germinated thin to 3 seedlings per hill.
