(Gaillardia aristata) Native to the western United States, Blanketflower is a stunning wildflower that produces vibrantly colored blooms with red centers and yellow rims. An important source of nectar for honeybees, native bees and butterflies, especially during the summer dearth. 100 seeds per packet.
CULTURE: Sow seeds outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds 1/8" deep and cover with fine soil. Alternatively, seed may be broadcasted and raked in. Under ideal conditions, germination will occur in 14-21 days. Thin to one plant every 14-18". In warm climates, seed may alternatively be sown in the fall.
