If you are tired of canning, but still want to maximize the output of your garden, then shelling beans are a great option. They are easy to grow and come in a full array of colors: black, white, pink, yellow, tan, and red. Shelling beans can be speckled, spotted, or swirled, round or flat, large or small, but one thing is for sure: they are a delight to shell. Just grew ‘1884’ this year for the first time, and it is now on my top 5 heirlooms list, and that is saying something because I grew over 75 varieties of heirlooms this year. Just one plant produced so many tomatoes I could not even believe it. They were huge, heavy, beautifully blocky, and most of all, DELICIOUS! I wish I would have kept track of how many tomatoes the one plant produced. At the end of the season I was kicking myself for not keeping track because I think the number would have been pretty incredible. This is going on my “grow every year” list.
I bought my daughter and son-in-law a beautiful hand-made wooden salad bowl from New Hampshire for Christmas. I tried to make a nice package gift, so I bought lettuce seeds from Thresh and various vinegars and oils to put inside the salad bowl. I know they will love it! My daughter is quite the gardener and we are always looking for interesting varieties of all kinds of veggies. It's a good site for seeds and they came quickly with tracking and follow-up. I will order again.
Good germination rate, I planted 9 cells of seed and 7/9 germinated with beautiful fruits this year. Thank you for the great growing season this year! ;)
I purchased the seeds to plant this coming spring. I have done a lot of research on sorghum and am so excited to plant this. They had a good variety of different types and I will be planting a couple of them. I hope my family along with the bees, chickens, and cows will absolutely love it.
I planted 50 and all 50 turned into beautiful plants. The SVB have gotten more than we have but we have harvested some beautiful pumpkins!! I will definitely order more!! I love this company! The seeds come super fast and the photography on the website is done absolutely beautifully!
They sent me what I order. I called for info on seeds. They were easy to contact and extremely nice to talk too. I received a lot of tips to produce more and better. Im going to continue to buy my seeds from thresh seed co.
I planted these seeds the first week of June in zone 6b. I think nearly every single one took. I pinched them back, and then they took off. It’s a great variety of single or multi-layers, some even pop up more red. They’ve been so fun to cut for vases, highly recommend.
