(Vigna unguiculata)  Highly productive variety yields tremendous quantities of small, slate colored beans with dark gray mottling and a black hilum.  Bushy plants have less of a tendency to run compared to other cowpea varieties and pods are set higher on the plant which makes them easier to pick. This variety originates from Sonora, Mexico but does very well in Midwestern climates.  Excellent drought tolerance.  80 days to harvest.  Approx. 50 seeds/pkt.

CULTURE:  After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds 2" apart, 1" deep in rows 36" apart.  Plants will vine if trellised.  Immature seeds can be cooked fresh or pods can be left to dry on the vine.
