Prevail Snap Green Bean
50 Seeds
(Phaseolus vulgaris) The best-yielding bean we've tried. Sets extra-heavy yields of nearly perfect, dark green beans over a long period. Canners will appreciate the impressive uniformity of these beans. Forget snapping them one by one. Just take a handful and quickly chop both ends off without having to readjust to catch the short ones. A huge time-saver. Plants are vigorous, healthy, and disease-resistant but are somewhat susceptible to snapping in strong winds. While not absolutely necessary, we recommend that small-scale gardeners stake plants to protect their harvest. 55 days to harvest. 50 seeds/pkt.
Culture: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds 4-6" apart, 1" deep in rows 24-36" apart. Optimum soil temperature for germination is 70-90 degrees. Germination takes 5-10 days.
