Perennial Sweet Pea

25 Seeds

$ 2.79

(Lathyrus latifolius) Also known as everlasting pea, vigorous vines produce clusters of bright pink flowers throughout summer and fall.  While not fragrant like annual sweet peas, we think you'll enjoy the beauty, vigor, and care-free maintenance of this heirloom variety.  6-8' vines are great adornments for garden arbors, trellises and fences and will attract hummingbirds and butterflies.  Drought tolerant.  Readily self-seeds.  Full to Part Sun.  25 seeds per pkt.

CULTURE:  Germination rates can be improved by scarring the seed or by gently cracking the outer shell with a set of toenail clippers (be careful not to damage the embryo inside).  Seed can then be directly sown in pre-moistened seed starting media (if starting indoors) or directly sown outdoors in early spring.  Set seeds 1" deep, allowing at least 2" between seeds in row.  Once established thin to one plant every 6-12".  Plants may initially need some help attaching themselves to the trellis, but once on, they'll find their way.
